Oduegwu still trying to reach coaches

Denton (Texas) Ryan safety Ishie Oduegwu has been trying to reach the coaches at Nebraska to inform them he would like to become part of the Husker program. But, there has been one problem.
“He can’t get in touch with them,” Ryan coach Joey Florence said. “He’s tried several times to reach Coach (Turner) Gill. I have even called Nebraska on several occasions and they haven’t returned my calls, either. I know they can’t call him back, but they can call coaches.”

Panic has not set in yet for the 5-foot-10, 185-pound Oduegwu.
“He is eager,” Florence said. “But, I’ve told him to just kind of sit tight. It’s early and there will be time. There is no reason for him to get excited about it right now.”
The four-star rated safety had previously attempted to commit to the defending national champion LSU Tigers, but two other commitments at the position prevented Oduegwu from joining Nick Saban’s team.
“Ishie will be fine. He has had a lot of good schools recruiting him. We’ll just stay on top of this thing and get it ironed out.”
