Ocean Lakes players close in on decisions

Recruiting is heating up at Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes. Quarterback Lafonte Thourogood still has more visits to go, but other prospects are inching closer to a decision according to their head coach.
"Chaz Lowery is really excited about all of his offers," Dolphins coach Chris Scott said. "He's got offers from Richmond, Old Dominion and East Carolina. They are really excited about him at East Carolina and the opportunities he'll have there.

"He is looking at the possibility of a trip to Virginia Tech this weekend. He's got a sister out there and he's going to help her move out and get in a workout while he's there. He's drawing close to a decision. He'll probably decide before the start of the season."
Meanwhile, what's the situation with fellow offensive lineman Josh Mann.
"I think Josh just had a great trip to Navy," he said. "He had a wonderful workout there and really, really liked that environment. He liked the coaches and they are going to continue to recruit him. He's excited about that process."
Mann still holds offers from Old Dominion and Elon. Is he closer to a choice?
"He's definitely a guy that'll likely going into the season to make a decision."
Finally, what about cornerback Reggie Owens.
"He's excited about an offer from Marshall he's got," he said. "This summer he's gotten a chance to get down to Duke a couple times and to East Carolina. He's really interested in the new staff at ECU and the way they do things. He's interested in what Duke and Coach Cutcliffe are able to do there too."
Scott wasn't positive if Owens will take a visit to Marshall, but he hasn't to date.
However, Scott feels a decision could come quite soon.
"He's ready to make his decision before the season starts," he said. "I think he and his family don't want to jump the gun, but I think in their mind they have a decision made on where they'd like to go. Right now he's just making sure that he'll be comfortable there for the next four or five years. As of right now, he hasn't made a decision."
