Ocala area athlete has three offers
One of the top players in the Ocala area this year is Mike West of North Marion High School in Citra. The 6-foot-1, 195 pound athlete currently has three scholarship offers.
Mike West plays several different positions for North Marion including safety, tailback, and wide receiver. He says he could play any of those positions in college and is being recruited as an athlete. So far he has received three scholarship offers.

"I've got offers from Southern Miss, South Florida, and Central Florida," West said.
West attended camps at Florida State, USF, UCF, and Troy State this summer and says he does not have a specific favorite but he does list a top five.
"Florida State, Southern Miss, Central Florida, Tennessee, and probably Miami," West said.
Mike West, who can run the forty-yard dash in 4.5 seconds, would like the possibility of early playing time in college. He said it did not matter whether he remained in the state or not. Last season West was named All-Area on defense.
"I had 78 tackles, four interceptions, and two forced fumbles," West said. "On offense I had 365 yards rushing and seven touchdowns."
West said his favorite team growing up was the University of Florida and his favorite football player is Marshall Faulk.
