OBrien ready for Big 10 trip

Patrick O'Brien has had a tremendous spring and recently Nebraska offered. This weekend the three-star quarterback is headed to Lincoln for a visit and it could play a major factor in his recruitment.
The San Juan Capistrano (Calif.) San Juan Hills standout said this past weekend at the B2G 7v7 Los Angeles that there is a lot to like about the Huskers.

"It's a Big 10 school with a great fan base," O'Brien said. "It's a big-time offer. I like them a whole lot right now. I'm excited to go visit May 10 and see how it goes over there.
"Mike Riley has a great history with quarterbacks when he was at Oregon State and coach (Danny) Langsdorf was the QB coach for the (New York) Giants last year and they always produced great quarterbacks so if I went there it would be a great place for me to play."
The day after Nebraska offered O'Brien, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound pro-style quarterback, Colorado State came through with another offer. On Saturday, Colorado offered as well.
With things picking up the San Juan Hills standout said even if things go well in Lincoln he might hold off on a commitment until things play out a little further.
'I don't know about a commitment but they would be up there," O'Brien said of the Huskers. "I want to commit in either June or July. I want to commit in the summer and have that done before my senior year. I'm just excited to go see it right now."
USC has told O'Brien to wait until May 8 after the coaches meet regarding an offer. He has already thrown for offensive coordinator Clay Helton. Coaches from Arizona State and UCLA are expected to stop by O'Brien's school this week.
"I feel like it's going to pick up a little bit," O'Brien said. "I just want to play it out and see what happens. I don't want to commit too early. I feel like I have some time right now."
