Oatis calls Ohio State visit awesome

"It was awesome," Chino, Calif., defensive back Shawn Oatis said when asked late Sunday night about his official visit to Ohio State. "I had a good time and enjoyed myself.
"I learned some stuff about the school I didn't know. It was very informative.

"The (OSU-Indiana) game was good. The young players stepped up. They rallied around each other."
Oatis has made official visits to both Ohio State and Notre Dame. He was asked about the two trips.
"I think Notre Dame might be a little better fit," Oatis said. "But I'm not sure. I have to sit down and jot down some notes about both. It's really close.
"I'm going to visit UCLA next weekend. I think that will round out my official visits.
"I might decide soon after that or it could be later. But I don't want to wait till the last minute.
"Notre Dame, Ohio State, UCLA, I wouldn't consider anyone the leader right now."
The 6-foot-0 and 205 pound Oatis made 69 tackles and intercepted two passes while also rushing for 1300 yards during his junior season. Chino has won six of seven games this season and Oatis has close to 40 tackles and two interceptions.
Oatis is the No. 6 safety prospect in the Rivals.com player rankings and the No. 22 overall prospect in the state of California.
