Oaks Christian corner racks up offers

There are so many prospects at Westlake (Calif.) Oaks Christian this season that Rivals.com could hire a full time writer just to keep tabs on the recruiting happenings at the school.
Another player who is seeing his stock rising through the roof is cornerback Anthony Gildon (6-0, 180, 4.45).

Just last week the talented corner picked up his latest offer from Arizona. The Wildcats join an impressive list of schools that includes Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Michigan, Northwestern, Nebraska, UNLV, San Diego State, Utah, Arizona and Oregon.
Gildon states that his current top three schools are Oregon, Nebraska and Michigan.
"The most important thing for me when I pick a college is being comfortable in the environment," Gildon said. "I may have to be there for four to five years."
"The option to play will be important," Gildon said. "If I have to red shirt, I would like the opportunity for playing time to be there after my red shirt year."
"Academics will also be very important," Gildon said. "A good education will set me up for the rest of my life."
Gildon would like to make his decision before the season starts this coming September.
Right now Gildon is not planning on attending any camps this summer but he could end up taking unofficial visits to Michigan and Nebraska this summer. He will definitely get to Nebraska while Michigan is not set in stone.
The scouting report on Gildon is he's a very smart football player. You only have to tell him something once. He learns what is being coached and then applies what he learns.
Gildon has the flexibility you like in a cornerback and has quick feet. In coverage he stays in the wide receiver's hip pocket.
Not only is Gildon good in coverage but, he's excellent in run support. He will come up and hit a running back.
In the weight room, Gildon currently benches 255 and squats 385. He has also recorded a 38-inch vertical.
