NYs Smith plans two visits

Three-star running back Laray Smith out of Brooklyn (N.Y.) Xaverian has seen interest pick up in recent weeks. With spring break, Smith is planning to head out on a couple visits.
"I'm taking a visit up to Syracuse this week and I'm going to West Virginia this weekend," he said. "West Virginia is telling me they are going to offer me. They tell me every day they really like my highlights and like my potential to be at West Virginia."

Smith wants to see a few things on the trips this week.
"I just want to know they are good areas and see the size of the schools," he said. "I want to get an idea around where I'll be at and see if I'll be comfortable. I want to see if they are nice campuses, facilities and things like that."
Smith added that he is hearing from Colorado, Wisconsin, Maryland and Penn State relatively frequently as well.
Smith plans to head to a number of summer camps, but hasn't scheduled dates at this time.
Meanwhile, the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder is keeping busy with track.
"I'm really big in track and ranked second in the state and 11th in the nation in the 200 meter," he said. "I haven't told a lot of schools about track, but I want to try it out my freshman year to see how it'll work out."
