NYs Kromah favors lone offer

Staten Island (N.Y.) Tottenville free safety Abraham Kromah holds one offer and is heavily favoring that school from the ACC. Who offered Kromah and what does he like about the program?
"I got an offer from Duke," he said. "I think very highly of them to tell you the truth. Academic wise you can't get any better and I'd be in the right hands once I graduate. They've got a second year coach and they're program is something I'd like to be a part of. I just like it a lot. I like coach Azzinaro who's recruiting me. He's a great guy and he's really straight forward and tells you the truth. I can tell he's an honest guy and helpful too. I'm supposed to be setting up a visit with them this summer, I'm planning to do it really soon."

Other schools showing interest in Kromah include Rutgers, Virginia, Michigan State, Boston College, Penn State and Syracuse among others.
"Duke is at the top of my list of course because of what they have to offer," he said. "Then Rutgers and every other school follow. I'm not very picky and I like to keep my options open. Right now, Duke seems like almost a perfect school and everyone else follows unless they offer."
What does the 6-foot-0, 200-pounder like about nearby Rutgers?
"I went to Rutgers and was impressed with their facilities and the people," he said. "The coaches and players are really nice and wonderful. I like the coaches a lot. Rutgers has mentioned an offer, but they said they want to come to one of my home games and watch me play."
With an offer in hand, does Kromah have an idea when he'd like to commit?
"I'm not sure exactly, I don't have a date set," he said. "I don't think I have enough information right now, but I've been thinking about Duke a lot."
Next season, Kromah is looking to improve his game even more after being named all-borough and second team all-city.
"I'm definitely looking to improve on my speed," he said. "That's the number one thing I need to work on. My goal is to drop it down to 4.5 or 4.55-seconds. I'm also looking to work on my tackling ability. I tackle well, but there's always room for improvement and I'd like to hit harder."
Besides himself, the prospect is looking to help his team too.
"My main goal this year is to win a city championship," he said. "That's the one and only goal for me. Everything after that is secondary, I put my team ahead and everything I do during the season is for the team."
Kromah caught 23 receptions for 400 yards and five touchdowns. He added 50 tackles and three interceptions on defense as a junior.
