NY TE/DE favors four led by Canes

Tight end and defensive end Anthony DiChiara out of Kings Park, N.Y. is really looking at four schools right now, but one of the schools is standing out more than the rest.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder has been taking a hard look at Miami, Boston College, Connecticut and Michigan.

"I like those schools because their programs," he said. "I have heard a lot of good things about the schools, teachers and stuff. The football teams, programs and coaches are cool too."
Of his list, it appears one school is standing out among the rest.
"Miami stands out the most for me," he said. "The football team, coaches and location really interest me and I've heard a lot of good things about the school. They've got the best program, but they also have a lot of coaches who can work one-on-one with you and I'm interested in learning as much as I can to help the team.
DiChiara was invited to Miami's junior day, but will instead check them out on an official visit this fall.
Other schools the tight end has been hearing from include Syracuse, Penn State, Michigan State, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Maryland and Virginia.
DiChiara hopes to make next year special.
"I'm looking forward to getting into the game and start playing," he said. "I want to get as many sacks as I can and try to win as many awards as I can. I'm also thinking about joining basketball next year because I want to keep myself in shape for football and it's my last year to have fun."
As for what position he'll play in college, that's still up in the air.
"I'm being recruited as both a tight end and defensive end," he said. "I'd prefer to play defensive end, but either is good to me."
Last season, DiChiara recorded four catches for 180 yards. On defense he had 12 sacks, 40 tackles and eight forced fumbles as he was named all-division and all-conference.
