NY tackle is as big as they come

Mount Sinai, N.Y. is home to arguably the biggest prospect in the 2007 class in offensive tackle Josh Smith. The mammoth 6-foot-7, 344-pounder can't go too far without getting noticed and recruiters obviously are taking a look at the lineman prospect.
"He's getting mail from Virginia, Temple, Rutgers, Boston College, Army, Maryland and Penn State," said Mount Sinai head coach Vinny Ammirato. "He is a pretty remarkable talent because of his size, but also the fact that he has only been playing football since his sophomore year. He is a real raw talent that is a very hard worker.

"Josh is big, strong and has good feet. He actually does the shot putt for the track team and lifts weights every day. He is a very dedicated athlete and it's hard to believe he is actually 340-pounds because he doesn't have stomach rolls on him. A lot of his weight is in his legs and chest. On the field, he has really developed and is unblockable. He gets double and triple teamed. The only thing he really needs to work on is his stance he just needs to be a click faster."
Smith is obviously already huge, how much bigger can he get?
"Height wise I can definitely see him gaining probably another inch and then as far as his weight he could easily handle 360 or 365-pounds," he said. "One other thing about Josh is that he is an absolute pleasure to coach. He doesn't complain and he is the kind of guy you're routing for and want to see do well."
Ammirato plans to take Smith to the Elite College Combine this spring along with two summer camps yet to be determined.
Mount Sinai has another lineman to keep an eye on in 2008 in 6-foot-5, 305-pound offensive guard Cody Leher.
"He is real young, but a good one," Ammirato said. "He has great feet, works hard and is another great kid to coach. I think he may be a little bit quicker than Josh, but I predict he'll be more of a guard type in college based on the way he moves."
