NY star tentatively schedules Big Ten visit

Syracuse (N.Y.) Christian Brothers defensive end McKenzie Mathews says he has not yet scheduled any of his official visits, but that may soon change.
"I have I think nine or ten (scholarship) offers now," McKenzie said. "My most recent ones are from Michigan State and Michigan.

"I'm looking at the ten schools that offered and about five that haven't."
When asked if he has a top seven or eight, McKenzie said, "Probably Michigan, Ohio State, Pitt, North Carolina, and Syracuse, then probably Notre Dame, then Alabama.
"Notre Dame hasn't offered, but all the rest have.
"I tentatively scheduled an official visit to Ohio State when they play Texas.
"I think I'll take at least four visits, but I'd like to take all five.
"I'm going to the Notre Dame at Pitt game, but that's an unofficial visit. I'd like to go to the Ohio State-Michigan game because it's such a good rivalry."
The 6-foot-3, 235 pound Mathews made 45 tackles including 13 sacks during his junior season. Mathews had 10 other tackles behind the line of scrimmage. He is the No. 6 prospect in the state of New York in the Rivals.com player rankings.
