NY receiver choosing to prep

Wide receiver Chris Ruffin out of Harlem (N.Y.) Wadleigh has held an offer from Central Florida since May. With a month until Signing Day, what is going on with the 5-foot-11, 170-pounder?
"Right now, Central Florida is still recruiting me," he said. "I'm also getting interest from West Virginia, Syracuse, Connecticut and Temple. I don't know if Connecticut, West Virginia or Syracuse is going to offer, if they did I'd likely accept the offer since I want to play Division I.

"If not, I think Central Florida is on the backburner and instead I'm looking at heading to prep school. I'm not really that happy with the offer I have, I want more and I'm thinking a year at post grad could help me get some publicity since I'm from a smaller program. I guess I'll have to prove I can play against better competition."
Ruffin has looked into prepping at Hargrave Military and Milford Academy.
"I think prep school is likely where I'm headed," he said. "My coaches are trying to set everything up. I can tell you my grades are fine and I've passed the ACT, I just want bigger name schools to look at me and I think prep school will do that for me."
The two-star prospect had a solid senior year in which he registered 49 receptions for 800 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also recorded four special teams touchdowns.
"This year the offense was built around me more," he said. "There weren't as many playmakers and that allowed me to carry the team. I think I did well and stepped up."
