Big 6-foot-5, 283-pound offensive tackle Andrew Nuss will be one of three representatives from the Commonwealth of Virginia in the inaugural Offense-Defense All-American Bowl on Jan. 4 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The Ashburn (Va.) Stone Bridge lineman is thrilled to be able to participate in the all-star game.
"I think it's a great honor to be invited," he said. "I know not many players get to play in an All-American game and I feel blessed. It means a lot to me to be able to showcase my talent and ability. I'm very lucky."
The four-star prospect will be able to show off his skills on national television through ESPNU.
"I want to show everybody my drive blocking," said the quiet lineman. "I love running the ball and winning the battle in the trenches. I feel I have good technique, but I look forward to the opportunity to work a little more on my pass blocking to touch it up."
Nuss expects to talk about his future home in Notre Dame.
"I'll probably talk to a few recruits about Notre Dame," he said. "I just want to tell them how great it is there and how they're going to win a title really soon."
Nuss has been a key player in helping Stone Bridge to a 10-0 season and the No. 1 seed throughout the playoffs.
"I've done pretty well this year," he said. "I'm getting big in the weight room and definitely a lot faster. I recently earned first team offense and defense honors for the district."
