Noyer visits Oregon State

After successful showings at the inaugural Rivals Quarterback Challenge Presented by Under Armour in Los Angeles and the Las Vegas Pylon 7v7 tournament, Sam Noyer turned his focus to the recruiting side of things.
The three-star quarterback from Beaverton (Ore.) landed his first scholarship offer from Eastern Washington and followed that up with an unofficial visit to Oregon State last weekend. It was a trip that left the 6-foot-4, 200-pound prospect rather optimistic about his recruitment.

"The Oregon State visit was great," Noyer said. "I got to talk to the coaches and they seem interested. I like what they have going on there and I'm excited to watch them this year."
Noyer did not add an offer from the Beavers while on campus, but he said that could arrive this summer. The pro-style quarterback proved to be an accurate passer with a strong arm at events last month, including the first-ever Rivals Challenge where he earned a spot in the finals.
"The coaches at Oregon State want to see me throw in person," Noyer said. "The offensive line coach (T.J. Woods) is recruiting me, but quarterbacks coach Kevin McGiven told me he's going to come up and watch me throw in the spring."
Noyer said he's got plans to visit Boise State in early April and could also swing through Arizona State at some point this spring. Eastern Washington also figures to draw a trip, with Noyer focused on meeting the respective staffs and seeing where he fits on their boards.
Despite not extending an offer, Oregon State made quite the impression on the in-state prospect.
"They were great," Noyer said. "Something that stood out to me was that I had already talked to three coaches before I even got there. Usually with schools I just talk to the quarterbacks coach."
Noyer passed for 2,697 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior last year, completing about 61 percent of his attempts. He also plays basketball and baseball at Beaverton.
