NOVA WR is putting together big senior season

A big senior season has colleges taking notice of Woodbridge (Va.) Forest Park wide receiver Troy Tyler. The 5-foot-10, 170-pounder has put up big numbers through five games this season and that has gotten a few schools to take a look.
"I have just under 1,000 all-purpose yards, one kickoff return for a touchdown, one punt return for a touchdown and six receiving touchdowns," he said. "Of that, I have about 300-yards receiving on 15 catches. I also have 23 tackles and two interception returns for touchdowns."

Tyler has far surpassed his statistics from a year.
"Last year was my first coming here, I moved from Columbia, South Carolina," he said. "I had 500-yards and eight touchdowns along with one kick return.
"The difference this year is that the coaching staff has found ways to get me the ball more. They are putting me in space."
In terms of his recruitment, interest has developed from Liberty, Virginia and Delaware.
"Liberty has come by a few times along with Virginia and the coach from Delaware has called my coach," he said. "There are others, but I haven't checked into it that much.
"Most of the coaches are telling me the same thing, I've got to get my grades up and take the SAT."
Tyler added that coaches have discussed the possibility of walking on as well.
What is Tyler looking for in a college?
"I'd rather be close to home in Virginia, North Carolina or South Carolina, somewhere in the south, I like warm weather," he said. "I want a good education and just somewhere I can meet people."
