Notre Dame offer big for Cravens

Su'a Cravens said he's solely focused on his junior season but it was hard even for the 2013 safety from Murrieta (Calif.) Vista Murrieta not to take a moment to be excited Thursday after Notre Dame offered.
Although Cravens is nowhere near making his decision, getting an offer from the Irish is definitely important.

"They've been recruiting me since the summer and they told me an offer was coming as soon as they saw my transcripts," Cravens said. "I guess they got them a little sooner because the offer was on the table my coach told me.
"I've been waiting on Notre Dame to offer me and I really do like their school. That's probably one of my biggest offers I have. I don't have any clear-cut favorites yet but they're definitely going to be in the running to be in my top five. I'm just excited about the offer right now."
Cravens, who also landed an offer from Purdue on Thursday, said he would like to take unofficial visits to USC and UCLA this year and possibly get to Oklahoma, Arkansas and Notre Dame as well.
So far, Arizona, Arkansas, Boise State, Colorado, Hawaii, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, Purdue, UCLA, Utah State and Washington have offered Cravens, who said Michigan State has started to show interest.
The 2013 standout said he'll mainly play outside linebacker this season and then be utilized at running back and receiver. It could get tiring for Cravens but he said tough preseason workouts have prepared him and he's ready to get going.
Recruiting will wait until later.
"I'm just 100 percent open," Cravens said. "I'm not focused on recruiting but I'm just going to stay up on the teams that have offered me. Right now all of my focus is on my team.
"They have me on both sides of the ball this year. They have me at linebacker mostly and then they have me at receiver and running back. It's going to be exciting. It was tiring at first but they do a great job getting us in shape. We run a lot so it's not a problem now. I'll be good."
