Notre Dame moving up for DT

Philadelphia (Pa.) West Philadelphia Catholic defensive tackle Derrell Hand said recruiting has been very busy and that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are moving up his list.
"I talked with coach (Charlie) Weis at Notre Dame on the phone and that went very well," Hand said. "But right now I would say Wisconsin and Michigan State are in front of everyone else, because I really like coaching staffs. I like those schools and feel like I can fit in. But Notre Dame is interesting as well."

Hand (6-foot-2, 298 pounds) had good official visits to Wisconsin and Michigan State.
"They both were great and I really can't compare them," the big man said. "The schools and the teams were really impressive. I liked everything I saw."
Hand was scheduled to go to Miami this weekend, but hasn't heard from the Canes in awhile and doesn't think they are still interested in the visit.
Notre Dame may moved into their place.
"I really had a good talk with him," Hand said of Weis. "I'm sure when we talk later it will be even better now that we know each other a little bit. I plan to take my last visit to Notre Dame (Jan. 14)."
And when will he make a decision about his recruiting choice?
"I'll probably do something soon after the Notre Dame visit," Hand said.
