Notre Dame is DBs childhood favorite

West Deptford, N.J. defensive back Anthony Scirrotto has two early offers from Stanford and Wisconsin and is hoping for third coming from his childhood favorite as the recruiting process heats up.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete is being recruited by most schools as a football athlete, but Anthony is also receiving considerable interest from several schools for his accolades on the baseball diamond.

“Stanford, Virginia, and Northwestern have been looking at me to play one or both sports so far,” explained Scirrotto. “Notre Dame is my favorite school and has been since I was a kid. I’m hoping to get an offer from them soon.”
Besides those schools, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Indiana, Rutgers, Syracuse, and Boston College are showing considerable interest in the two sport star.
What’s Anthony looking for in a school?
“Academics are really important to me as well as my relationship with the coaching staff,” admitted Scirrotto. “I’d like to get on the field early if possible. Distance from home is not a factor, I just need to be comfortable with whatever location I choose.”
Scirrotto qualify easily with a 4.0 GPA and 1110 on his SAT’s.
A first team all-conference selection as a quarterback and all-South Jersey as a defensive back during his junior year, Scirrotto talks about what makes him so special as an athlete on the gridiron.
“I’m aggressive as a defender and play more like an extra linebacker in the secondary,” said Scirrotto. “I’ve got good field vision and my skills as a quarterback help me understand positioning myself in the secondary.”
Scirrotto will camp at Virginia and Maryland over the summer and plans to take a trip to Penn State sometime in the coming weeks.
