The Class of 2008 prospect claims an early offer from Virginia Tech.
"It's a pretty good offer," he said.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder also is hearing from Florida, Clemson and Indiana.
"Virginia Tech, Florida and LSU are my top three right now," he said. …
Marietta (Ga.) Lassiter linebacker/defensive end prospect Zachary Bobb had a good day at the combine.
The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder posted solid numbers in the shuttle (4.54 seconds), the bench press (22 reps of 185 pounds) and the vertical leap (31 inches).
Bobb holds no current scholarship offers, but likes Georgia, LSU, Auburn and Ole Miss. Both of Bobb's sisters attended college in Oxford. …
Savannah (Ga.) Jenkins defensive end/outside linebacker Chaz Sutton has early offers from Virginia Tech and Rutgers. The 6-foot-4, 222-pounder had a good day of testing as well. A 32-inch vertical leap and a 4.69 shuttle time were among the highlights.
Georgia, Florida and Auburn also are among the early schools of interest for Sutton. …
Rossville (Ga.) Ridgeland tight end/defensive end Nigel Nichols showed off his quickness during the combine with a time of 4.12 in the shuttle. That's not bad at all for a 6-foot-3, 247-pounder.
Nichols has been getting early interest from Georgia, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt and Duke. …
Rome (Ga.) prospect Cory Thacker was one of the top overall athletes at the event. He has excellent speed (sub 4.5 40) and quickness and tested off the charts. He likely will play wide receiver in college.

Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson defensive back Dustin Route had a big junior year, with four interceptions.
He enjoyed a good day at the combine, posting a 40 time in the 4.4 range and also a sub-4.4 shuttle.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pounder posted a sub-4.5 40 time and a 4.1 time in the shuttle on Saturday. …

Atlanta Douglass wide receiver Christopher O'Neal is an intriguing prospect. The 6-foot-5, 205-pounder posted a 4.6 in the 40-yard dash and looks like a Division I-A prospect athletically. If history is any indication, Clemson and Georgia could become factors if he emerges. …
College Park (Ga.) North Clayton safety prospect Ed Nden looked like he belonged. The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder posted a solid 4.6 time in the 40 and ran the shuttle in the sub 4.3-second range.
Nden's early list includes Georgia, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech and Miami (Fla.).
