Not just Josh Hadens teammate

Recruiting has started early for Fort Washington (Md.) Friendly running back Lamaar Thomas. The 5-foot-10, 166-pounder already holds one offer and is getting interest from plenty of other schools.
"I already have an offer from Maryland," he said. "I know the coaches at Ohio State have been contacting my coach about me. I also have seen a lot of letters from Illinois, Virginia, UCLA, Washington, Southern Cal, Arizona State and more.

"I have to say I feel really good about Ohio State. They are the No. 1 team in the country, that's great."
What does the stud tailback think about his lone offer to this point?
"I really like Maryland too," he said. "I go to a lot of their games and talk to the coaches when I'm up there. I like the coaches; they don't just talk to me about me coming to Maryland. They talk about the Redskins, school and other stuff."
Currently, one school is standing out for Thomas.
"I like Florida State a lot," he said. "I think if they came in, it would affect me. I've liked them since I was little and would definitely consider it."
In general, Thomas is looking for a few things out of a school.
"Really, what I want is to be able to play," he said. "If I'm able and ready then I want to as a freshman or at least a sophomore. I'm going to look at the depth charts to see about that.
"I also want to play running back. Some schools like Pittsburgh and Virginia want me at wide receiver, while Ohio State wants me at defensive back. I think I really want to play tailback."
This season, Thomas helped Friendly to a 14-0 season and state title.
"Everybody on our team played really hard after feeling like we were cheated out of the championship a year ago," he said. "We didn't take teams lightly and got the wins.
"I think I did well. I have been limited since we have so much talent at running back. I don't get the ball as much as I'd like, but I think I did my part to help the team win. I did start to play safety this year too and I think I did pretty well there."
