Northwestern Lands DE Commitment
"I just committed to Northwestern about ten minutes ago," defensive end Barry Cofield said. "Georgia Tech was my second choice."
When asked why he chose the Wildcats, Cofield responded, "Well, the obvious reason, academics. And coach (Randy) Walker being an Ohio guy was important. And the stability of the program now."

Cofield, 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, also had offers from Indiana and Pitt, as well as Georgia Tech.
Cleveland Heights is 2-4, but Cofield has played very well. He has 18 tackles for losses including six sacks.
