Northwest WR ready for big season

Wide receiver Gianni Carter (6-2, 185, 4.5) from Eugene (Ore.) Marist is looking forward to having a big senior season knowing that with a solid effort, he will get that D-I scholie that he covets.
Though has yet to bag his first scholie, he is getting a lot of attention on the recruiting trail.

"I am hearing from Oregon State, UNLV, Tennessee, Cal, Stanford, Utah, Idaho, Washington, Boise State, and Oregon," Carter said. "I also got some stuff from Georgia Tech."
"The coaches want to see my first couple of games my senior year before they make any offers," Carter said. "My favorites would be Cal, Stanford, Oregon State, Washington, Boise State, Oregon and UNLV. I'd like to hear more from UCLA and hopefully Washington State."
"I haven't set up any official visits yet," Carter said. "I'd like to visit Stanford, Cal and Washington."
What is Carter looking for in a college?
"First of all academics, because I want to go into law," Carter said. "Also team camaraderie, the coach, and the campus."
"I want to make sure that I weigh all of my options when I start getting offers," Carter said. "I want to make sure I know which school I want. It will probably be right next to the deadline (LOI day)."
Carter has D-I bloodlines as his cousin is 2008 wide receiver recruit Felton Payton who is going to Troy.
Carter is also an outstanding student who carries a 3.5 GPA and scored a passing 1450 on the SAT. Ever the competitor, Carter is going to retake the SAT and also plans to take the ACT.
Carter made the Rivals.com Oregon Preseason Top 10 team for 2009 landing as the Beaver State's No. 9 recruit at any position.
