"I was really excited with the Stanford offer," York said. "Stanford provides a great opportunity to get a great education and play in the Pac-10."
"Stanford's coaches were recruiting me pretty hard before the offer," York said. "So I'm pretty happy with the offer."
York recently returned from taking unofficial visits to Oregon and Oregon State.
"Oregon was really great," York said. "Most of the coaches have been there since they started winning in 1989."
"The Oregon coaching staff is committed to winning and Oregon's facilities were amazing," York said. "I think Coach Mike Bellotti will be coaching Oregon my entire time there if I decided to there. He really likes Eugene."
"I liked how Oregon State went all out to show me how interested they are in me," York said. "Oregon State head coach Mike Riley told me he thinks I'm the best tackle he has seen on film this year."
"I think I could make my decision my decision by summer if I see something in a school where I know I won't go any other school, I'll commit," York said. "If not then I will take some official visits this fall."
"I'm very open regarding schools at this time."
York was a second-team all-league and second-team all-area performer as a junior, but the interesting thing is he was the only underclassman to be honored on either team.
In the classroom, York carries a 3.91 GPA and was among the top 12 per cent on the Country on the PSAT.
