Position: Safety.
Size, Speed, and Grades: McCullough is 6-foot-2, 190 pounds, and runs the forty-yard dash in 4.5 seconds. He has a core grade point average of 3.0 and is awaiting his SAT score. He took the test in early April.
Statistics: McCullough had 63 solo tackles, 14 assisted tackles, 3 fumble recoveries, 3 interceptions, and 9 broken up passes during his junior campaign.
Favorites: McCullough indicated a preference in Clemson, South Carolina, and Georgia Southern.
Skinny: Recruiting fans may remember the McCullough name from a couple years ago. Trey's brother Todd, a linebacker, signed with the University of Florida in 2001 out of The Bolles School in Jacksonville. Trey played at Bolles last season but transferred back to his hometown school of Baker County this semester. His primary position is safety, but he may spend some time under center this season.
"I just transferred from there back to my hometown of Baker County," I was talking to the coaches here and they said I'd probably play quarterback too."
McCullough has been hearing from Clemson, South Carolina, Louisville, and Georgia Southern.
"I will give a lot of consideration to where the school is located," McCullough said. "I'll probably look at my position depth and the coaching staff."
McCullough attended UF's spring game and plans on camping there and also at Clemson. He said his sports hero and the player he likes to compare himself to is UF safety Todd Johnson. Spring practice at his high school began today and he heard at least a couple schools plan to stop by.
"I talked to my coach, Carl West at Baker County High, and he said the Clemson and Georgia Southern coaches are going to come down in May," McCullough said.
