North Texas scores in state

It was a busy weekend once again in Denton, Texas, as North Texas racked up three more commitments from in-state prospects.
North Texas landed pledges from Spring (Texas) Westfield defensive tackle Matt Menard (6-5, 275), El Paso Coronado defensive tackle Esteban Santiago (6-3, 283) and Copppell, Texas, defensive end Marquis Sykes (6-3, 253).

Santiago said he was excited about his decision.
"They have great athletic facilities and a great history of winning," Santiago said. "They will win a lot more games next year, and I want to help them turn it around. They have awesome facilities.
"Almost everything is brand new."
North Texas also played host this weekend to Miami (Okla.) Northeastern Oklahoma three-star offensive lineman Lee Tibbs. The 6-foot-5, 310-pound Tibbs said he remained an Iowa State commitment after the visit.
