North Texas ATH headed to Rice
Mansfield, Texas athlete Drew Mehringer kept his recruitment under the radar but word got out that his recruiting process was done some time ago.
In October, the 6-foot, 197-pound prospect made his decision after receiving an offer from Rice that he would keep it in-state with the school that's close to home.

"Yeah, I'm headed to Rice," Mehringer said. "I chose them because they're going to open up their offensive playbook and I could also get a great education there."
The coaching change also has increased the excitement in the future for Mehringer.
"I've spoken with the new coaching staff," Mehringer said. "They're very high energy guys and they're going to really pick up the pace with the plays they run. That's what I was looking for, so it worked out perfectly."
Mehringer is rated as a two-star prospect.
