The Southeastern Conference is looking like a strong bet for one of north
Florida's top all-around athletes.

Green Cove Spring's
Charles Clark, a 6-foot, 180-pound defensive back, says his current top
three consists of Auburn, Ole Miss and Arkansas.
"I'm getting ready to go to camp at Auburn this
weekend," he said. "I'm really looking forward to that, kind of hoping they give
me an offer."
It will be Clark's second visit to the Plains. He said
he really enjoyed the campus and coaching staff the last time he made the trip.
Running a close second to the Tigers are both Ole Miss
and Arkansas.
"With Ole Miss, I really like their DB coach," Clark
said. "He isn't the area coach for here, but he went out of his way to tell me
he'd be personally recruiting me.
"It's kind of the same thing with Arkansas. Their
coaches have been great, and they were the first school that showed any interest
in me. I'll always remember that."
Clark is also receiving interest from South Florida,
Central Florida, Bethune-Cookman, Buffalo and Valdosta State. In addition to
Auburn, he's signed up for the Bethune-Cookman camp this summer.
As a junior, Clark (4.48 forty) played five different
positions for Clay High School. He rushed 65 times for 450 yards, caught 20
passes for 400 yards and recorded 82 tackles and three interceptions as a
defensive back.
