Senior defensive lineman Elijiah Brown has been one of the better defensive line prospects in North Carolina for a while. The Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day stand out has narrowed his recruitment down to Wake Forest and Duke with a decision coming in the next few months.

IN HIS OWN WORDS…

"Wake Forest is a really good, up and coming school," Brown said. "They have a strong recruiting class coming in with Sage Surratt and a lot of other North Carolina natives. They are graduating a lot of players on the defensive line so the opportunity could arise when I could get into the rotation. They told me that but it's all about me working hard and doing what I need to do.

"The Duke offer came in during the summer," he said. "They came by the school a few times but I didn't realize how interested in me they were. They've told me I'm one of their top defensive priorities. They are graduating a lot of guys too. They said I have an opportunity to play and be in the rotation because I have the skills and talent to perform inside.

"It's about seeing how comfortable at each school," said Brown. "I've visited both schools a few times this summer. I'm aiming to commit at the end of the season. If I'm feeling confident about my decision it could come before then. I'm definitely going to take official visits to Wake Forest and Duke. If any other schools come in and offer me during the season I'll have to look into them as well."

RIVALS' REACTION

Brown has shown a lot of improvement since last season and should have success at Wake Forest, Duke, or any school he chooses. The long standing relationships Brown has at Wake Forest play into their favor but Duke has some momentum and the Blue Devils could capitalize during his official visit.
