North Carolina DB still undecided

North Carolina is home to some of the nation's top talent this year, and one of the best in the state is safety Jamar Adams of Charlotte (N.C.) Butler. Miami has made a strong push for the standout, but UVA seems to be moving in just as fast.
"Miami has come on strong pretty recently," said the 6-foot-1, 198-pound Adams. "They've told me they might offer, and that would be really nice. I'm a very competitive player and I absolutely hate to lose. One of the biggest factors in my decision will be whether or not the school will be able to compete for a national championship."

However, a pair of other schools are after Adams' the hardest.
"Virginia and North Carolina are recruiting me the hardest," said Adams. "Virginia is one of my favorites along with Michigan, Miami, Florida State, Georgia and North Carolina, but UNC is a little behind those teams. I'm pretty open to all of those schools though."
Virginia could be the team to watch if Adams decides to leave the state.
"I watched them practice in their spring game and they're very intense. All their guys work real hard to improve themselves. You can definitely tell that they're on the rise. The guys they're recruiting have the size of NFL players and I think they're going to be competing with the best teams in the nation."
He likes the prospect of being coached by players with NFL experience.
"UVA has coaches with a lot of NFL experience, and I'm attracted to that. They won a lot of games last year and they know what it takes to get guys to the next level. I love the defensive backs coach, I relate to him real well."
Adams has offers from Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia, Wake Forest and Vanderbilt. He may decide during his senior season.
"It's looking like I might not make my decision until the middle of the season maybe. I hope to visit some of my favorite schools officially before I announce my final decision, so that might delay things a little."
