North Carolina back wasnt a big football fan

Most people who grow up playing sports just naturally watch and follow the sports they play. Some are more fanatical than others, but that’s not in the case of Albermarle, N.C., standout Tristan McClendon.
He was hardly a fanatic. He wasn’t even a fan when he was growing up.

"No I never really watched much sports, so I don’t really have any favorites, which I think is a good thing." McClendon said.
McClendon will generate interest from lots of schools with a 4.44-second 40-yard dash at 5-foot-11 and 217-pounds.
His lack of a long time favorite allows him to look at his impressive list of suitors from Michigan to Florida State.
"I am looking at Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn, Penn State, Alabama, Michigan, Florida, NC State, and Florida State," he said. "I have an offer from NC State.”
With schools from such a wide range of areas it should be obvious that location isn’t a large part of his deciding factors.
"It really doesn’t matter to me where the school is,” he said. “I just want to be comfortable where ever I do end up."
He has been working hard in the off-season and has some impressive max lifts to show for it."Most recently I maxed at 365 on bench, and 510 on squat,” he said. “I think I can still get stronger though."
