NorCal WR staying close to home

Granite Bay (Calif.) athlete Devon Wylie has had Fresno State and a couple of Pac 10 schools at the top of his list for months now. Both Cal and Oregon State hinted at offers but Wylie decided he was done playing the waiting game and is now WAC bound.
Wylie is an explosive receiver prospect who will also see a lot of action on punt and kick returns. He had a very solid junior season and then blew up at the NIKE camp at Stanford clocking a 4.53 in the 40 (top five in the camp) to go with a 4.31 in the shuttle and 35 inch vertical jump.

Wylie is used as both a running and receiving threat in the Grizzlies Wing-Toffense. He has rushed for 941 yards and 14 touchdowns to go with 33 catches for 456 yards and three more scores.
"I committed Sunday night," Wylie said. "I've always liked Fresno State, they were always high at the top for me. Early on, I liked Cal a lot too and they kept saying they could offer but it never happened.
"Oregon State was recruiting me heavily as well and said they could be offering but finally, I just got tired of waiting and decided to jump on the offer from Fresno State. I like the school, the coaches and the vision the coaches have for me in the program.
"Adam Jennings, who actually played at my high school, is graduating and they see me fitting in with a similar role. He played a position they call 'rocket back' and that's what they want me to do, along with returning punts and kicks.
"So I'll have a chance to play right away in an offense that is a good fit for me. I take my official visit there (Dec. 8) but I've been to the school before and attended a game this year. I like the school a lot and I just think it's a good overall fit for me."
