Oakland (Calif.) McClymonds tight end NaDerris Ward had his third official visit in as many weekends, this time checking out Tennessee. Ward had earlier visited LSU and Arizona and has two more visits scheduled for November.
"I had a real nice time," Ward said. "The highlites for me were the fans and the game atmosphere. The people are really crazy about Tennessee football there and the game was wild. I know there were a lot of upset fans after the game and a lot of people were calling for Randy Sanders head (UT offensive coordinator). The fans are obviously used to winning and the team isn't moving the ball that well but I don't know if it's all Coach Sanders' fault, they have younger quarterbacks and a lot injuries.
"Another thing that stood out to me was the Architecture program. That's my major and I was really impressed with what they had to show me. The city is nice and I got along well with the players and coaches. Jayson Swain was my host and he was real cool. Everyone gets along well there and it's a nice family atmosphere all around. Plus Tennessee has always had good tight ends and sends a lot of players in to the NFL.
"Going in to the visit, I really didn't know much about Tennessee and I got interested in them kind of late but they definitely showed me a good time. Of the three trips I took, I still have to say I had the best time at LSU because I bonded with the players like no other place. It's hard to explain but I just had such a great time with the players at LSU but everyone is still very much in it and I'm looking forward to finishing off my last two trips."
