NorCal sleeper QB now drawing attention

Very few players anywhere in the country put up bigger numbers this year than Tulare (Calif.) quarterback Emmanuel Lewis. Lewis can beat you with his arm or his legs and more and more schools are beginning to take notice.
Lewis, 6-1, 180 pounds was an all-state underclass second team selection a year ago after throwing for 2,568 yards and 21 touchdowns and rushing for 683 yards and 13 more scores. He smashed those numbers this year throwing for 4,213 yards and 50 touchdowns, both marks led the state.

Lewis also rushed for 400 yards and 15 scores and led his team to a 12-0 record before falling last weekend to West Bakersfield in the section championship game.
Despite his huge numbers on the field, Lewis has only recently seen a spike in his recruitment. The signal caller took his first official visit last weekend and is set for visit No. 2 this weekend.
"I went to Nevada and liked it a lot," Lewis said. "My parents went with me and we all had a good time. It was really cold but other than that, it was a great time. I really liked the coaches a lot and was able to spend a lot of time with them. I like the offense they have there and I feel like I would fit in well there. It was just my first visit but I could definitely see myself at Nevada."
Lewis will visit Ball State this weekend (Dec 16) and is hearing from a handful of other schools as well.
"Nevada and Ball State are my two offers," Lewis said. "I'm also hearing from Kansas State, Mississippi, Vanderbilt and Oregon State. They have all called me and I would like to take a few more trips in January. Kansas State, Oregon State and Ole Miss all came and watched one of my playoff games. I'm just going to go through the process a little more and will decide later on in January."
