NorCal RB is blowing up

One player that is quickly becoming one of the hottest recruits in the West region is Stockton (Calif.) Lincoln running back Curtis Shaw. Shaw had a standout performance at the NIKE Camp at Stanford and after reviewing his film, there is no doubt in our eyes that Shaw is one of the top five backs in the Golden State in the class of 2007.
Shaw, 5-10, 180 pounds clocked the second fastest 40 time at the NorCal NIKE camp with a 4.52 to go with a 33 inch vertical jumped and a 4.25 time in the shuttle. He excelled in the position and one on one drills as well and was regarded as one of the five best backs in the camp.

As a junior, Shaw had a very nice year racking up 1,653 yards and 21 touchdowns in Lincoln's unique Wing-T offense. Although he'll play tailback in college, Shaw lines up at fullback at times for Lincoln and he's able to make it work because he's so explosive and has a great burst, he'll hit the hole and get past the line before the defense can react to him.
"Curtis is getting recruited by every school in the country and he's good enough to play for any school in the country," Lincoln coach Jim Rubiales said. "He's an incredible football player and has everything you could want. Plus he's a great kid who works hard on and off the field. The only thing Curtis needs to work on right now is improving his grades. He knows its an issue though and is working hard to get himself qualified.
"Right now, every school that has been by here, basically everyone in the Pac 10 plus Nebraska, Colorado, San Diego State and a few others, has given him a verbal offer and said the written one will come when they see his grades improve. They're all contingency offers but I think he'll make it and like I said, he's a great player."
The latest scuttlebutt we heard was Michigan was on the verge of offering and would be high on Shaw's list once and if they do. At the NIKE camp, the athlete listed Nebraska, Washington, Cal and Oregon as his top schools.
