NorCal CB has two offers

Fair Oaks (Calif.) Del Campo cornerback Tony Gobern had a very good showing at the Palo Alto NIKE Training Camp. He went into the camp with an offer from Nevada, but he then picked up another one after the camp from Air Force.
He hopes his current camp effort at Cal, is enough to get the Bears interested. Even if they're not, there seem to be plenty of schools showing the 5-foot-11, 175-pounder interest.

"UC Davis, UNLV, Nevada, Air Force, Idaho State, Weber State and Wyoming are the main ones I remember that called in the spring evaluation process," Gobern said. "I've got two offers from Nevada and Air Force. Those are the only two so far, but my top five would be Cal, UNLV, Nevada, Air Force and probably Georgia Tech.
"I'm actually at Cal's football camp right now. I'm just trying to show them that I can compete with these guys. It's going pretty good. They wanted me at running back the first day and I thought I did alright. Then I played at corner today. That's my position. So I was just out there trying to bat passes. I got one interception so far."
He thinks it's been enough to impress the Bear coaches.
"I feel real good so far with how I've done," he said. "I'm not all tight and tense. I'm playing real loose."
Gobern plans to make other camp stops this summer.
"I'm going to go to Nevada's one day camp," he said. "Then I'm going to Georgia Techs in July. Then probably Air Force and maybe Nebraska."
Gobern knows what will be important for him when it comes time to make a decision.
"I'm looking for a school that if I go there, they can set me up with great career later on in life," he said. "Also a school with good academics. I like to compete in the classroom as well. Then I just want a decent football team. I don't care about superstars. I just want a team that goes out there and plays like a team."
