NorCal athlete making a name

Wide receiver/defensive back prospect Michael Johnson (6-2, 175, 4.5) from Stockton (Calif.) Lincoln is a very versatile player who is getting looks for his talents on both sides of the ball. He was selected second-team all-league as a junior as a wide receiver.
As a wide receiver Johnson caught 25 passes for 632 yards and 10 touchdowns. He had a long reception of 74 yards and averaged 25.3 yards per catch as a junior. Johnson also ran the ball for 132 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns while averaging 9.4 yards per carry.

On defense, Johnson racked up 30 tackles, three picks and two fumble recoveries.
Johnson plays for a run dominated offense so he has tremendous blocking skills. He is an excellent technician and he stays on his blocks downfield.
As a pass catcher, Johnson is very consistent and makes the most of his opportunities.
Thompson is currently being recruited by Nebraska, Washington, USC, Arizona and UCLA. He is getting handwritten letters from Nebraska and USC.
What is Johnson looking for in a school?
“I want to go to a school with great facilities,” Johnson said. “Also I want it to click with the coaches and the players. Meaning team chemistry is very important.”
Johnson will attend the MSL combine at Cal and will take part at the NIKE camp being held at Stanford in May.
Johnson benches 220 and participates in the 100, 200, 400 and 4x100 in track. His best time in the 100 in 10.8.
