“I’m trying to decide between LSU and Florida State,” he said. “I’m pretty sure it will be one of those, but it’s a real hard decision.”
Asked what factors make it so difficult, Lucas said: “Both are real good teams. I think both of them can play for a championship. Florida State has a lot better situation for running backs. LSU is stacked up with young backs right now. But then again, LSU is home, you know? That’s hard to overlook.”
He also has an offer from Indiana and has drawn interest from Nebraska, Tennessee and Notre Dame, but it looks like those are longshots at this point.
Lucas (5-11, 224, 4.51) said he’ll schedule official visits with the Tigers and Seminoles when his season ends. He leads Redeptorist (9-1) into the playoffs this week after rushing for almost 1,100 yards and 20 touchdowns in the regular season.
As a junior, he rushed for 1,982 yards and 30 touchdowns. He's rated the No. 30 running back in the nation by Rivals.com.
Academically, he carries a 2.8 GPA and is awaiting his latest test scores.
