NoCal WR up to four offers

Three-star wide receiver Brett Thompson (6-3, 205, 4.58) from El Dorado Hills (Calif.) Oak Ridge was impressive at every camp we saw him at this camp season. He ran excellent routes and more importantly displayed reliable hands. He has the potential to be a chain mover on the next level. Thompson currently has four offers on the table.

"As of right now my offers are BYU, Nebraska, UNLV, and Air Force," Thompson said. " "BYU is recruiting me the hardest right now. "I don't have favorites yet, I'm keeping my options open."

"I've been to a couple of camps and while I was there I checked out the campuses," Thompsons said. "I've been to UCLA, Cal, and Oregon State, but I have not set up any official visits yet. There are a lot of schools who have verbally offered, but I don't accept them until they're written."

"Officially I'd like to visit Oregon, UCLA; Nebraska would be sweet, and BYU."

At this time Thompson is unclear of when he will make his college decision.

What is Thompson looking for in a college?

"That they (the school) are okay with me going on a mission, that's the most important thing.," Thompson said. "It's totally my decision although they (parents) are behind me 100%, so whatever my decision is they're going to be okay with it."

What have you liked about the recruiting process?

"It's kind of cool having people know who you are," Thompson said. "And it's cool going somewhere and they (college coaches) act like they know who you are and they feel they want you."

In the weight room, Thompson currently benches 265 and he's solid the classroom, too, with his 3.3 GPA.

As a junior, Thompson racked up 35 catches for 570 yards and six touchdowns. His performance was good enough to earn to earn all-league and all-area honors. As a sophomore ,Thompson hauled in 48 receptions for 945 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Thompson is a member of the Rivals.com California Preseason Top 100 for the class of 2009 landing as the Golden State's No. 76 prospect at any position.
