NoCal QB continues his record breaking ways

Quarterback Jamie Jensen (6-3, 205, 4.85) from Gilroy, Calif., has played his senior season like did as a junior when he was named Northern California Player of the Year, League MVP, first-team all-section and second-team all-state.
Jensen worked hard in the offseason on every aspect of quarterbacking to get ready for his senior season and it has worked as Gilory is sitting with an 8-1 record.

"I changed my whole form and now I have a tighter, quicker release," Jensen said. "I worked with Roger Theder and Peter Goodson on my footwork as well."
Obviously Jensen's hard work is paying off as he has thrown for 2,432 yards, and 24 touchdowns against 11 interceptions as a senior.
As a junior, Jensen threw for 4,323 yards and 41 touchdowns. He also broke the Northern California single game yards record when he threw for 486 yards in a single contest in 2007. In the very same game, he tied the Northern California record for touchdowns passes in a single game with eight.
Jensen has now thrown for over 6,700 yards and 65 touchdowns over the course of two years and there is still some season left.
Jensen has improved his velocity to go with his already outstanding touch. He throws a really good long ball and one 63 yards in the air that went for a 75 yard touchdown.
Jensen has the intangible qualities you look for in a signal caller like decision making and leadership.
In an earlier interview Gilroy head coach Rich Hammond had the following to say about his field general.
"Jamie is unflappable," Hammond said. "His ability to control his body and mind, while there is pressure in the pocket and still get the ball downfield, makes him special."
"Jamie throws a good deep ball, is very tough and makes the right reads," Hammond said. "He's a great leader and helped us have the best record in school history and led to our first championship game. We're definitely happy that Jamie is coming back this season."
On the recruiting front, Jensen is getting recruiting interest from BYU, Utah, San Diego State, Hawai'i, and Texas Tech.
Jensen is also a good student who carries a 3.5 GPA and a qualifying 1610 SAT.
