NoCal LB racks up offers

Sacramento (Calif.) Grant linebacker Reggie Walker (6-2 ½, 220, 4.5) is off to a fast start in 2004. Many are unaware of Walker because of his more highly heralded teammate Syd’Quan Thompson, but he is definitely making a name for himself with his senior season performance.
Though Walker was an all-metro performer as a junior after racking up over 140 tackles as a junior, he was overshadowed a year ago by Cal Bear freshman Worrell Williams.
Now Walker is beginning to get some of the spotlight placed on him and he is coming through with flying colors.
So far in four games Walkers has racked up 44 tackles and three sacks. He has even scored a touchdown this season.
“Reggie has been very impressive this season,” Grant coach Mike Alberghini said. “He’s leading the team in tackles and has been a tremendous presence on our defense.”
“Reggie is big hitter and is very aggressive,” Alberghini said. “He’s our defensive leader.”
“I believe Reggie has offers Washington and Fresno State,” Alberghini said. “Arizona and Oregon were both here recently. I know they are very interested in Reggie but I’m not sure if they have offered or not.”
Grant has another tough game tomorrow evening when the Pacers take on undefeated but one tied Granite Bay led by Colorado bound quarterback Pat Devenny.
