NoCal athlete sparkles at SPARQ

Athlete prospect Dominique Jackson (5-11, 170, 4.31) from Hayward, Calif., blew up the NIKE/SPARQ combine held at Laney Junior College recently and scored the combines highest SPARQ rating with a 105.
Jackson ran the 40 in 4.43, the shuttle in 4.1 and recorded a 33-inch vertical. With SPARQ numbers like that it looks like there are good things in store for Jackson.

The talented athlete from Hayward is no stranger to hard work. His current max bench is 295, his squat is 400 and his power clean is 225.
Because Jackson wants to improve his overall speed, he will run track this spring. He will compete in 100, 200 and the 4x100.
Jackson will attend the NIKE Camp to be held in Palo Alto and is also planning to attend Stanford's football camp.
On the gridiron, Jackson made second-team all-league as a running back after rushing for over 1,000 yards and scored 18 touchdowns as a junior. He also picked off four passes from his safety spot.
Jackson is being recruited as an athlete. He has the skills to play on either side of the ball on the collegiate level, but will need to put on weight for him to be an every down back. If he doesn't add the weight, he could end up as an outstanding corner.
What is Jackson looking for in a college?
"I want to go to a college where I can get a good degree and enjoy playing football," Jackson said. "The team doesn't have to be a ranked team now, but have the potential to be ranked.
"I like to have fun when I play football and keep things loose," Jackson said. "That being said, I'm serious about football and I never quit in a game regardless of the score. I always give 110 percent when I'm on the field."
Colleges such as Georgia Tech, Washington State, Cal, Nebraska, Utah, Arizona State, Oregon, Oregon State and UNLV are showing Jackson recruiting interest.
Jackson has good bloodlines. His cousin jLeandre Daniels just signed with Washington State last February to play safety.
