NoCal athlete has the look

San Jose (Calif.) Archbishop Mitty has three potential D-I prospects for the class of 2008. One of them is fullback/linebacker Kenny Jackson (6-0, 216, 4.7).
Jackson was at UCLA's junior day earlier in the month so the Bruins are aware of him in the early going. Cal is also aware of Jackson.

Retiring Archbishop head coach Dave Brown thinks that Jackson is going to be a highly recruited athlete.
"Kenny passes the look test," Brown said. "He will get a lot of attention when the colleges come by here in the spring.
"Kenny plays linebacker and fullback on a high level, but he probably projects as a linebacker," Brown said. "He will probably play the Sam or Mike backer.
"Kenny is a downhill player who can hit and cover a lot of ground," Brown said. "He has a natural ability to evade blockers and get to the football. He's a very instinctive player and once sees the football he gets there in a hurry."
"Defensively Kenny played behind UCLA bound Steve Sloan but he is projected to play Mike this fall," Brown said. "He started for us at fullback where he earned all-league honors.
"Everybody was afraid to tackle him because he runs like a freight train," Brown said. "He's a load to tackle."
Jackson rushed for 853 yards from his fullback position and scored nine touchdowns. He 1,059 total yards.
In the weight room, Jackson currently benches 265, squats 440, cleans 225 and has recorded 27-inch vertical.
Jackson is good for a team off the field, too because he is very likable.
"Kenny is a great kid," Brown said. "He's very charismatic and he handles himself as a mature adult."
