NoCal 2010 OL impresses at USC Camp

When you perform the way class of 2010 offensive tackle Chandler Hubbard (6-5, 260, 5.2) from Salinas, Calif., did at the USC Rising Stars Camp last June word gets out that you held your own against the nation's best and that will only put you on the recruiting map.
One of the things that stood out about Hubbard was his overall athleticism for a big guy. A good all around athlete, Hubbard also plays basketball and baseball, but the smart money is on football as his ticket to a D-I scholie when his turn to be recruited in earnest comes around.

You know you must have something special when as a junior to be, playing offensive line, already is receiving recruiting interest from schools such as LSU, USC, Notre Dame, UCLA, Cal, North Carolina, Ohio State, Florida State, Georgia and Brown.
Hubbard went with his team to Stanford's big man challenge camp and they did exceedingly well.
"My school won the (Stanford big man) challenge," Hubbard said. "It was more of a competition than learning footwork or anything."
"I learned a lot at USC's Rising Stars Camp," Hubbard said. "At my school, we are more of a running team so going to USC's camp was very beneficial because we worked on pass protection."
Though it is early in Hubbard's recruitment, does he have any favorites?
"I would really love to go to North Carolina," Hubbard said. "I like the program they have there and the location."
"I would also like to go to LSU," Hubbard said. "I like LSU's history, it is pretty great. I've heard LSU has a pretty nice campus, too."
"I also like Cal," Hubbard said. "Their location is really nice and I like the atmosphere there."
Is there anything particular that Hubbard is looking for in a college?
"I want to get into marine biology," Hubbard said. "So I want a school that I choose to strong in that department."
