NoCal 09 speedster heating up

There is an old football adage that speed kills and if that old saying holds true then running back/linebacker Cameron Marshall (5-10, 195, 4.32) from San Jose (Calif.) Valley Christian is downright deadly.
The talented Northern California running back earned all-section honors for his talents on both sides of the football as a running back and linebacker.

"Though there are those who might be tempted to play Cameron on the defensive side of the because of everything he brings to the table, but he projects as a running back," Valley Christian coach Mike Machado said. "He has too much talent as a running back to play him anywhere else, because he's most dangerous when he has his hands on the ball.
"Cameron has that great burst that all the great running backs have and he has extreme power," Machado said. "He runs right though tacklers.
"Cameron is also excellent out of the backfield as a receiver and he's an excellent blocker, too," Machado said. "He's the complete back.
"When Utah came by they basically said that Cameron is an early offer guy," Machado said. "Other schools already showing interest are Oregon, USC, Nebraska, Northwestern and Ole Miss.
Not a bad group, but the word on the street is there will be a lot more recruiting Marshall before too long and there is a very good reason for that.
"Cameron is the fastest guy in California," Machado said. "He is currently tearing it up in indoor track,
Speed in definitely in Marshall's bloodlines. His sister Dahlis Marshall is one of the top female sprinters in the country and she multiple offers nationally for track.
Though Marshall himself is an excellent sprinter and will probably get recruited for track, he's football who is also good in track, not the other way around.
"Cameron is towards the best I've ever had here at Valley Christian."
