No need for the Sooner Nation to worry about Reggie Grimes

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Last year at this time, Reggie Grimes was in Florida competing at the Future 50, and now, he is back to complete his senior season as an Under Armour All-American.

The edge rusher out of Brentwood (Tenn.) Ravenwood surprised some when he committed to the Oklahoma Sooners over South Carolina and Tennessee Thanksgiving weekend.

The Early Signing Period has come and gone and Grimes chose not to sign, so should those in Norman be worried?

"I am 100% with Oklahoma and I have no plans to visit other schools or to let other schools come visit me in January," said Grimes. "It has been a dream of mine for years to sign on the real Signing Day, so my plan all along has been to wait until February.

"I am not looking around, I am not talking to any other schools and I will be signing with Oklahoma February 5."

Grimes did not rule out an unofficial visit to Norman in January, and if he did make it out, it will be visit No. 2 to his future home That first visit when the Sooners hosted West Virginia showed him all he needed to see.

"It was packed, the crowd was loud, and despite the wagon tipping over that day, everything was perfect.

"Oklahoma is a big program, it has great tradition, the defense is making strides and I cannot wait to get out there show what I can do."

The in-state school, Tennessee, has backed off, but South Carolina has not given up yet. Grimes just doesn't seem interested in the Gamecocks any longer though.

"I am done with it all," said Grimes. "Oklahoma knew my plan, they did not pressure me to sign early and I am all the way with Oklahoma.

"I am not exploring options, I am not talking with South Carolina, I am focused on Oklahoma."
