Four-star Hartwell (Ga.) Hart County linebacker Jae Thaxton was scheduled to make an official visit with one of his top schools this weekend, but did not make the trip.
“I didn’t go to Miami,” he said.
Any particular reason why?
“I’d rather keep that personal,” he added.
Thaxton (6-3, 225, 4.7) has narrowed his decision to Florida State, Georgia, LSU and Notre Dame. He’s visited the Seminoles and Bulldogs. He’s in the process of determining which weekend will be assigned to the Tigers and Fighting Irish.
“One will be the 23rd and the other will be the 30th,” he said.
He maintains there is no leader at this point, although some indications point to FSU and UGA.
“I’m wide open,” Thaxton said. “They’re all on an even level right now.”
As a senior, Thaxton recorded 160 tackles and five sacks. He’s rated the No. 8 inside linebacker in the nation by Rivals.com.
