No. 3 tight end makes college choice

Galena Park (Texas) North Shore tight end Dajleon Farr took an unofficial visit this weekend and it led to the nation’s No. 3 rated tight end making a commitment.
“I did take an unofficial visit to LSU this weekend,” the 6-foot-6, 235-pound Farr said.

“I had a real good time. I got to talk to the players and the coaches. I really enjoyed the game and the atmosphere at the stadium.”
Did the evening make enough of an impression for Farr to tell Tiger coach Nick Saban he wanted to be part of the defending national champions’ program?
“I did commit to LSU while I was there this weekend,” he said.
“I just felt like it was the right time to do it. The trip to Baton Rouge isn’t too far for my family to come see me play. I also was impressed with the people there and my opportunity if I go there to play is very good.
“Coach Saban was happy when I told him. He was telling me about the future of his program and what kind of a part I would be playing in it. It is nice to have this decision out of the way. I haven’t called the other schools, yet, to tell them.
"I still want to take my trips, so there is always a chance I could change, but I think there is a real good chance I will be sticking with this commitment and being part of the LSU program.”
