No. 3 CB loved academic side of things

Cleveland Glenville cornerback Donte Whitner is back from another official visit - this time around he was at Michigan.

“It was right up there with Ohio State and USC,” Whitner, who is 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, said. “Just when I think I can’t be impressed more, I am. I thought it was going to be tough to top all the cool stuff that I saw at Ohio State and at USC, but Michigan is right up there.”
What impressed him the most, might surprise some people that think kids make decisions based off of football alone.
“I don’t think you can beat the academic situation up at Michigan,” Whitner said. “They have first class teachers, courses and the support system is great for athletes. That’s the one thing the players kept talking about. They all know how important that is.”
Whitner is now set to take at least two more trips before he makes an agonizing decision. He’s slated to visit Notre Dame this upcoming weekend on Thursday through Saturday morning and then Miami is scheduled for December 20.
He does not claim a leader at this point three visits into the process.
