Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas kicker Jay Ottovegio is working hard to get his trips scheduled.

"I've had a Jan. 10 trip to Stanford lined up for a while," the 6-foot, 190-pound Ottovegio said. "It sounds like I'll be going to Kansas State on Jan. 17. And I'm working with Colorado State to try to get one set up for this coming weekend (Dec. 6)."
Ottovegio, who is the nation's No. 2 rated kicker in Rivals.com's latest rankings, is being recruited as both a kicker and a punter by schools.
"Stanford is saying kicker. Colorado State said maybe both. And Kansas State has indicated it is as a punter first, with a chance at kicking. I prefer kicking. They are more involved in the game with point afters, kick-offs and field goals. But if a school recruits me for just punting then that will be fine too."
Ottovegio expects a visit this week from the Stanford coaches.
"Stanford is coming on Thursday to see me at home. Colorado State has said they may come this week too. Kansas State has not talked about it yet."
Ottovegio knows what he's looking for in a school.
"I want to go somewhere with good academics. I am looking at engineering or sports medicine at this time. I might go in as undecided too. I'd like to play kind of early on the football team. I don't want to go somewhere that I'll be stuck on the bench for three years. I also want a place that I'll feel comfortable with everything there."
