NJs Hogan lands first offer

Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph's running back Kamal Hogan pulled his first scholarship recently. The 5-foot-11, 196-pounder landed the offer from the Big East.
"I got the offer from Syracuse back on Good Friday," he said. "It was my first offer. It meant a lot to me.

"I've talked to Syracuse and they said they didn't recruit any running backs in the 2009 class, so I have a chance to compete for a starting job as a freshman. That sounds nice."
Recently Hogan visited another Big East school, Rutgers.
"Rutgers was nice," he said. "I went up with Dan Foose and Doug Rigg. I stayed for the game and met with Coach Schiano. The coaches said they are thinking about offering, but I've got to just see what happens."
More visits are coming for Hogan as he plans to attend the Penn State Nike Camp on May 2nd, followed by trips this summer to Maryland, Pittsburgh, Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia.
Does the Jersey prospect like anybody?
"I actually like Georgia and UCLA," he said. "I've gotten a little bit of mail from both.
"I've always liked Georgia because Knowshon Moreno is from Jersey and he went there. As for UCLA, I like California."
Hogan earned first team all-league after rushing for 711-yards and eight touchdowns as a junior.
